EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
| Mission accomplished! Our mission was to go to Mashonga, Uganda, preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, overcome witchcraft, cults, and religious mindsets with the real truth from the Word of God, establish a base of true believers, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and baptizing them in the Holy Spirit, and plant a new church with a strong senior pastor in place to continue the work of our Lord Jesus Christ long after we have gone home. All of these objectives were achieved and more! The Bushenyi District of Uganda (the size of a small country) has the strongest witchcraft in Uganda - and the witchdoctors were busy! But your prayers opened the way before us and none were harmed. Although nearly everyone was hit with a sickness of some sort, all performed "full tilt" throughout the week. We were the third known foreign missions team to minister in the Bushenyi District within the past 10 years, and the only such team ever known in history to have ministered in Mashonga. Despite efforts on various nights by witchdoctors and Muslims to curse the crusade, it went ahead notwithstanding some obstructions (especially on the PA system) and the power of God was displayed in the Gospel. One crusade was interrupted by a hail storm, but the team stood in the storm and prayed until it was lifted - and the crowd returned, the gospel was preached and many were saved!
Each morning (Tuesday through Friday) in Mashonga, part of the team participated in teaching seminars (with average attendance of about 100, mostly adults) while the rest of the team witnessed on the streets. People were saved in the seminars and on the streets every morning. Saturday morning's seminar was personal evangelism training.
Each of the six evenings in Mashonga, a crusade was held with average attendance of about 400 each (mostly adults). Each evening crusade consisted of praise and worship, personal testimonies, a highly evangelistic exhortation, and a highly evangelistic main message, and a very clear, deliberate, passionate invitation to receive Christ - followed by a gathering together of those who received, to be prayed for and counseled. Also, following the crusade on a couple of nights, Campus Crusade's "The Jesus Film" was played via a film projector onto a white sheet to a crowd gathered together outside in the moonlight.
In addition to salvations, other miracles during the trip included: A woman healed of a painful lump in her side, a man scheduled for leg amputation was healed of painful cancer, an elderly woman was healed of pain all over her body, several were healed of chronic head pain, several were delivered of panic/fear, and several were filled with supernatural Holy Spirit joy. Also, Jennifer Webb was frequently given prophetic words from the Lord for individuals every day. Pastor Innocent, the pastor of the newly-planted "Holy Spirit Fire Church" of Mashonga, is a mighty man of God with a powerful personal testimony and a powerful anointing for healing miracles. Pastor Innocent and his brother are in the process of moving to Mashonga and getting settled there. Missionary Ventures provided money to purchase a cow for Pastor Innocent. The particular cow purchased and given is a special European breed of cow with double the milk-producing capability of the regular local breed. Further, this cow is carrying a calf, so this is a double-double blessing to help sustain Pastor Innocent in his ministry in Mashonga. Pastor Innocent will also be joined by a small core group of local rock-solid lay leaders. Pastor Innocent is also under the strong covering of Pastor Willy Tumwine and the Holy Spirit Fire Church of Mbarara, Uganda. Everyone involved is very excited about the good work that has been accomplished and the very strong potential of the work that will continue there in Mashonga, Uganda. ALL glory to God! Mighty is the name of our LORD Jesus Christ! |
