NIGEL HARDING - BIO --May 2004

Nigel and Kathy, along with Abigail (ten years old) left London, England in 2002 to become field coordinators in Uganda for Missionary Ventures International.  Nigel is a graduate of the London School of Theology and has several years of ministry experience in the UK including six years as youth pastor and associate pastor respectively.  He also had a secular career as finance manager for the national marketing department of accountants Deloitte.  Kathy has many years experience as a carer for the elderly, people with physical and learning disabilities as well as homeless people and desires more than anything to take care of people in need.

Their focus is to encourage and enable the growth and development of indigenous ministries throughout East Africa, including Uganda where they currently live.  They believe God has a special purpose for the church in Uganda, to deepen her knowledge of His Word and make her a missionary sending nation.

Over 80% of the East African nations are not urbanized or industrialized but are made up of subsistence agriculture. Nigel has consequently been very involved in rural church planting ministries.  The work has included the ministry of short-term mission teams from UK, USA and Australia. Since 2002 he has worked with twelve evangelism teams, one optical team, two medical teams and two seminary students.  Nigel has also facilitated various development projects, including church and school building programs, deep water wells, the distribution of bicycles and motorcycles, micro enterprise, pastors support, child sponsorship and orphan childcare and more.  Nigel also has a Bible teaching ministry and specializes in Christian leadership development.

Nigel is a third generation missionary to Africa, having felt called to Christian leadership and African ministry many years ago as a teenager.  He and his family live by faith in God’s provision as they serve Him and Missionary Ventures International.  Nigel’s greatest desire is to fulfil the Great Commission – communicating the Word of God through teaching and preaching to make disciples of Jesus Christ and plant churches.  His priority is to build strong relationships with indigenous leaders on a spiritual basis, followed by assistance in any practical initiatives God chooses to communicate His great compassion.  Your partnership with them in prayer and support is very much appreciated as together we advance the Kingdom of God.

GARY & PATSY HALL - BIO--Feb 2004

In 1974, Patsy took Jesus as Lord, Gary recommitted his life and in 1985, they and their two young daughters moved to the Northeast of England to do volunteer work with an established church there.  They worked in children's ministry and community outreach.  After a year and a half, they returned home becoming involved again in house groups, teaching and ministry in the church.   Gary and Patsy are members at Calvary Assembly of God in Orlando, Florida.

Missionary Ventures, International (MVI) sent them to Ireland in 1995 to look at an initial ministry opportunity.  Two years later was their first Short-Term Mission to Uganda, East Africa.  MVI had begun working with Patrick Baligasima of Discipleship Mission, Busembatia, Uganda.  He had planted 25 churches.  Eight missions later, the Halls will take another team over at the end of April.  Over the 8 years, MVI teams have helped plant many of the 280 churches.  MVI helped establish a Bible College which has trained over 200 pastors, a primary school of about 250, a secondary school of about 500 and a combined school with over 900, many boarding.  The Hall's Teams usually go to new villages, camp in tents, hold nightly crusades, teach seminars through the day and plant a church.

Teams function out of a heart of love for the Lord, for the people and a desire to come along side and help pastors do what they're called to do.  Usually motor bikes or bicycles given by Christian Motorcycle Association are given so leaders can better cover their ministry areas.  (People will walk 2-3 days to come to crusades, seminars and conferences.)  Over the last seven years the Halls have ministered in a strong Muslim area near the Congo border, planted 3 churches on 3 different islands in Lake Victoria, led and taught the All-Believers' Conference and Bible College Graduation with 2,000 in attendance.  They have seen the blind healed, deaf hear, tumors disappear, many delivered from witchcraft and saved.

In a 1997 speech Uganda's President Museveni said, "Today as we meet together, let's resolve to take Jesus Christ out of the religious setting in which we have imprisoned Him and walk with Him along the dusty roads of Africa where He feels much more at home."  And so, the Halls take small, short-term teams to walk with Jesus along those dusty roads of Africa, to experience the Lord in ways that change them for the rest of their lives.

The Halls made the first trip into Zambia, opening the door to MVI's work.  They return yearly to teach, preach, do conferences and plant churches. They've worked in the Eastern Province and now concentrate in the Zambezi River Valley with the Tonga People.  They've made initial contacts in Tanzania and Zanzibar, worked in Ireland, taught in the Bible College in Russia and ministered among an Indian tribe in the jungle of northern Peru. David Livingstone once said, "Forever forward with the Lord." That is also the heart of the Halls for Africa.

Pastor Robin Cox

GREAT!!!!!!!

PASTOR ROBIN COX - BIO--Feb 2004

Robin Cox and his wife Reba moved from Roswell, New Mexico to Orlando, Florida in June, 2001 when Robin become the Pastor of Evangelism and Follow-up at Calvary Assembly of God in Orlando.  At Calvary, with the help of the Holy Spirit and over 26 years of experience in personal evangelism, and with the help of wonderfully dedicated volunteers, Pastor Robin Cox founded an evangelism ministry called "On Purpose Soul Winning" (OPSW).  Based on 2 Timothy 2's principle of biblical multiplication, this ministry effectively trains people to be intentional and deliberate in their efforts in communicating the "Good News" of salvation through Jesus Christ.  OPSW not only trains people to share the Good News in a very deliberate way, but also trains people to share without fear, without arguments, and without applying pressure.   With five training semesters per year since 2002, OPSW has seen over 350 ordinary people from all walks of life become effective, certified soul winners - and 150 people have become certified trainers in the program!

Pastor Robin Cox has been involved in several foreign missions trips in Mexico and Honduras and has assisted in the planting of churches in cities including Campamiento and Guaymaca in Honduras.  Pastor Robin Cox led mission teams from CalvaryAssembly, Orlando to Honduras in 2002 and 2003, resulting in several thousand souls receiving Christ as savior.  Pastor Robin Cox is planning another highly evangelistic mission trip to Honduras later in 2004.Robin’s best friend is his wife, Reba.  For most of their lives, they lived in Roswell, New Mexico, where their children and grandchildren reside.  They have two daughters, Laura 30 and Lisa 23, and four grandchildren Sadie, Sage, Wyatt, and Hunter.  Robin has served in the ministry as Associate Pastor, Youth Pastor, Children’s Pastor, Bus Pastor, and Pastor of Evangelism.

The passion of Robin’s heart is to know Jesus with a zealous, passionate love and to minister Christ's love through the power of the Holy Ghost.  His love for the Word of God is insatiable and his zeal to win the lost while seeing them discipled in the church through biblical multiplication is contagious.

Dan and Jennifer Webb

Dan and Jennifer Webb - BIO--Feb 2004

Dan and Jennifer Webb are members of Calvary Assembly of God in Orlando, Florida.  Dan's first mission trip ever was a "dental" mission trip to Haiti in 1982.  Jennifer's first mission trip ever was a "construction" mission trip to Snowbird, North Carolina in 1978.  In 2003, Dan and Jennifer traveled to Honduras with a Calvary Assembly mission team led by Pastor Robin Cox.  Dan and Jennifer gained experience giving testimonies and preaching the gospel in Honduras.   Their experience in Honduras will help prepare them for this trip to Uganda.

At Calvary Assembly, Dan and Jennifer have been certified as trainers in OPSW, certified as care group leaders, serve as altar prayer ministers, and are starting a new equipping ministry within Calvary Assembly called Eagle's Nest.

During 2002 and 2003, Dan was very involved in Calvary Assembly's On Purpose Soul Winning (OPSW) evangelism program.  Dan helped train children and teenagers to share their faith without fear.  In the past two years, Dan has "gotten his feet wet" in many venues of evangelism, including evangelizing on the street, in retail stores, in the local county jails, in public parks, door-to-door, around the Calvary church campus on Wednesday nights and at the altar on Sunday mornings.  Dan has also served under Pastor Robin Cox as an Overseer in the OPSW program and has contributed to that program by assisting in the writing of documents and developing improved ways of witnessing and training.

Jennifer's heartbeat is for intimacy with God. The knowledge that God wants an intimate relationship/partnership with His people was first birthed in her through prayer. God is now expanding her relationship with Him in 4 major areas: intercession, worship, compassion and prophetic evangelism. The ministries she has been involved with since coming to Calvary Assembly have been: Frontline Flag Ministry, individual prayer ministry at the altar on Sunday mornings and at women's events, Calvary's Tuesday Night Intercessory Prayer Team, Cleansing Stream ministry as part of their intercessory prayer team, On Purpose Soul Winning, and teaching Discovering God's Heart which is a allegorical teaching on the Song of Solomon. In 2003, Jennifer served Pastors Rick and Millie Lugo, helping launch their ministry, 23rd Psalm Church Ministries which is a ministry of compassion.
